Studio Confirms New Resident Evil Movie Already in the Works

The fifth installment of the undefeated movie series should arrive good in time for Doomsday.

It doesn't look like having a Devil May Cry movie to make is doing anything to slow down output of Resident Injurious films at the Sony-owned studio Screen Gems. Quite the opponent, as a matter of fact, as the gap between the fourth and fifth moving-picture show is going to be the shortest ane yet.

As with the last three movies, the new Resident Worthless, which has the imaginative functional title of "House physician Worthless 5," is coming unstylish in mid-Sept. But where premature installments have been separated past a three year crack, this time, it's only two, meaning that the movie will hit theaters in 2012. Very few details are acknowledged well-nig the plot, and it's unlikely to have much in common with the videogame translation of Resident Evil 5. It has been confirmed, however, that the picture show will be shot in 3D, like its predecessor, Resident Evil: Afterlife.

The Resident Evil movies aren't the finest films in the ma, only they do stool a heck of a good deal of money, which is probably why CRT screen Gems is so eager to get another out the door so quickly. Afterlife made all but a quarter of a billion dollars in the foreign market, and close to $60 million domestically. Interestingly though, while the domestic receipts was up from previous installments, attendance was really at an all-metre low for the series, which means that more of the domestic gross was delinquent to higher slate prices for 3D movies.

Resident Evil 5, which bequeath undoubtedly pick up a caption before it hits theaters, is scheduled for release on September 14th 2012.
